This bubbly young lady has spent 3 years working as a project manager. Her greatest ambition is to add value to successful organisations by building fruitful relationships and applying her mind to implement new concepts. She has positioned herself in a niche consulting environment which has brought about various opportunities such as working in one of the first ever EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) transit system implementations in the world. Her most exciting challenges thus far have involved business development and project management in different spheres and sectors of government and the remarkable experiences have sparked interest in other components of business in general.

Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree. – Martin Luther and It is hard to beat a person who never gives up- Babe Ruth

Mapitso aspires to inspire and firmly believes there is always someone watching. Through one’s positive stance in life, you might just be changing someone else’s life and their outlook without even being aware of it. Her interests are aligned to community engagement projects that are aimed at eradicating poverty, decreasing the unemployment rate amongst youth as well as encouraging a positive lifestyle in our society. This led to her being a part of an NPO, Tsoga Ke Tsoge (TKT) which is in pursuit of improving and changing the mind-set of individuals that think they’ve reached a dead end in being successful. Mapitso recently organised a Women’s Day Buffet Lunch which was aimed at empowering and inspiring Women. She was also briefly involved with Buka Pele, an initiative aimed at improving literacy levels in our country through reading.

Mapitso’s favourite quote is: “Shortcuts will cut you short in life.” No matter how hard or how long it takes to accomplish something in life, it’s always best to dedicate the required effort and means. You don’t want to find yourself regretting taking the easy way out, doing damage control then having to try again. The end results will be more fulfilling if everything is done right the first time. Hurdles are meant to build your character.
